Swimming Pool News.

The Ruby Valley Swimming Pool is one of a very few OUTDOOR swimming pools in Southwest Montana.  A great day outing for the family would be to come to the Ruby Valley, play tennis in the Mill Creek Park or fish at one of the many streams or rivers, followed by a mid-day barbeque along Mill Creek or dine at one of the valley's restaurants, and top it all off with a refreshing swim at the Ruby Valley Swimming Pool.  Great and affordable fun in the summertime!

This year the grand opening of the pool will be Friday June 19, 2009 for Family Night and Barbeque sponsored by the Ruby Valley Swimming Club and the Sheridan/ Alder Park and Recreation District or SAPRD.  The Family Night event will begin at 5pm.  Ruby Valley Swimming Pool information cards with hours of operation are available at various locations around Sheridan, Twin Bridges, Alder, Virginia City and Ennis or at www.rubyvalleypool.com or www.sheridanalderparks.org 

For the 2009 swim season Ruby Valley Swimming Pool is leased from the Town of Sheridan by the SAPRD.  The support of pool is a joint effort between Town and the SAPRD with additional support from the Ruby Valley Swimming Club.

The Sheridan Alder Parks and Recreation District, or SAPRD, also has a website that links to the Madison County website and not only includes information on the pool but all of the park districts activities.  That site is www.sheridanalderparks.org   Chuck Bowey is the SAPRD chair person and Janet Marsh and Janet Doornbos also sit on the SAPRD board.  The SAPRD boundaries are that of the Sheridan High School District.
