Geoscience teaching tools

The goal is to promote the geosciences. I strongly believe that more people need to be exposed to geology – especially to raise the interest in the geological sciences among High School students so they know something about geology before they get to college! The Geological Society of London and the Geological Society of America are sponsors of the Planet Earth - Earth Sciences for Society. They have endeavored to create web sites where teachers (and those interested in educating others on earth sciences) can take advantage of teaching tools to educate children about earth sciences. You can also visit the International Year of the Planet for more information.

From the Geological Society of London

Earthlearningidea (Geoscientist 17.8 August 2007) was set up for the International Year of Planet Earth with the intention of reaching as many children throughout the world as possible, particularly those who suffer from lack of resources and from lack of thought-provoking teaching. Our aim is to foster a better knowledge of our natural world and how it works, encouraging the joy of knowledge about the Earth in those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive it.
