MSIT has a few lofty goals this year, so we'll be busy getting the Landscaping done at the new south entrance sign. We will also be getting the landscaping at the new Main St. Park (at least to a more visually pleasing state), and a new historical informational sign will be put up in the new park. We'll have our gratitude BBQ for all of those that helped to get the first entry sign completed. We are having our wine tasting and silent auction, and we will be getting the north entry sign up but probably no landscaping and lighting til next year. Lots to do." From Kay Colwell Secreatary MSIT

No – but we are closer to some of the best skiing in Montana than most big cities. With Maverick Mountain offering pristine powder just around the corner, Big Sky and Moonlight Basin a day trip away, and the Tobacco Roots for back country skiing, you can still experience world class recreational opportunities. More 1/07/2010 The Sheridan Schools in conjunction with the Horizons Project is offering a wide variety of adult education classes this winter and spring. The Sheridan Public Library is a member of the Montana Shared Catalog. The Montana Shared Catalog is a cooperative project involving almost 100 libraries. Members also enjoy the benefits of shared expertise and the ability to provide great service to library customers. Go to the Sheridan Library Site and see if the book you are looking for is available in Sheridan, if not check the Montana Shared Catalog. Order your book on line and the Librarian will call you when your book is in Sheridan. There are also many computers available for public use. See our Library Page for library hours and more information. 1/04/10 Did you know that all of the kids in the Sheridan Schools are involved in community service? Our schools are helping to prepare our children for life. According to the superintendent, Kim Harding, from kindergarten through 12th grade each child works on a portfolio. One of the requirements on the portfolio is to log 10 hours of community service, it can be working for the city cleaning the park, chopping wood for a neighbor, volunteering at the food bank or something like helping at school. These portfolios will help the students later in their lives with job, scholarship, and college applications. In May kindergarten through 6th grade presents their portfolio to a panel of teachers and parents and grades 7th through 12th presents their portfolio to a panel of adults in the community. Be a part of what these kids are becoming and support the hard work they are putting into this community by volunteering your time to be on the panel. Contact Kim Harding at 842-5401.
